Avril Lavigne Having Trouble Selling Her Toronto House – Selling Agent Goes To Media

Avril-lavigneSinging star Avril Lavigne is selling her Toronto home in the  trendy section of CabbageTown, even though homes typically sell very quickly. One wonders if it is a question of the perception of how a 21 year old would decorate her house, which actually is  reported  to be very suburban, or if there is a stigma attached to buying a home from a pop star.

The 21-year-old rock star is having trouble selling her downtown Toronto home. It has been on the market for 50 days. The asking price has been dropped to $599,000 from $618,000.
This in a city where homes in the most desirable neighbourhoods often last less than a week on the market, and go for tens of thousands over asking when buyers bid against each other.
In what appeared to be a last-ditch attempt, Lavigne’s real estate agent emailed the Toronto Star earlier this week, hoping to arouse media coverage — a name-dropping tactic that he possibly thought too tacky two months ago. via TheStar.com
