Harry Norman Realtors Being Bought By Buffet’s Home Services Of America

HarrynormanOne of the largest and oldest real estate brokerages in Atlanta, Harry Norman Realtors is being purchased by Warren Buffet’s Home Services of America Group for an undisclosed amount. The company also owns Jenny Pruit and Associates, another long term real estate firm in Atlanta. The two will be kept as seperate entities in the market.

Harry Norman has 20 Atlanta offices and nearly 1,200 Realtors, is celebrating its 75th year in the market this year.
“Our decision to partner with HomeServices is strategic because it will protect and strengthen our brand, build on our legacy and preserve the integrity of our operating principles that have been established over the last 76 years,” said Lewis Glenn, president and CEO of Harry Norman Realtors, in a prepared statement.
In 2005, the company closed more than 9,400 homes with a volume of $3.6 billion.
Harry Norman Realtors and Jenny Pruitt will operate as independent brands. With the addition of Harry Norman Realtors, HomeServices has leading real estate brokerage operations in 19 states and more than 21,000 sales associates.
HomeServices also acquired the Harry Norman Realtors’ interests in Academy Financial Services, Heritage Title and HN Insurance, which together complete Harry Norman’s core service offering.
Academy Financial Services, a full-service mortgage lender closed $239 million of mortgage volume in 2005. Heritage Title, a title agency, handled approximately 1,700 transactions. HN Insurance offers a broad range of homeowners and personal lines insurance products.
