If a service dog is causing damage to a property, making threatening gestures, or excessive barking; the apartment complex is well with in its legal rights to exclude the animal from the property.

A properly trained service animal does not exhibit such behavior.

Bella is a SERVICE DOG to me. She helps me steady my balance,(I am a "household Ambulator only),when I walk, she fetches things for me, that would otherwise be impossible to get.If you can't help me,can you please refer me to a lawyer who deals with these types of issues,or advocacy group in my area,(Wash,DC/oour NATIONS CAPITAL! My lease is up the end of March/08,at which time I will be moving back home (FL). Please help me live in peace until then.Every 3-4 months this bldg/mgmt company changes its rules on Pets,as well as other issues, and no matter what the rules were when one moved in they just indiscriminently change them at their will,i.e., when I moved in; pets okay on all floors, except 10th, now a few months ago they changed it to only from the 5th floor down, what's next?). With graditude for any assistance. Mia Hindin 2400 Mst Apts.#1014,Wash,DC 20037
