What if Your Real Estate Agent Will Not Let You Market Your Own House? : The Real Estate Bloggers

What if Your Real Estate Agent Will Not Let You Market Your Own House?

I was just reading a very interesting post by Marlow Harris over at the 360digest Weblog about Trulia and he asks a great question.

But what does an agent do when their company prevents, discourages or illegalizes these free forms of web promotion?

The idea that a broker could keep a homeowner from helping to market their home is absurd on the surface. However, when you read this post and you will see that most listing agreements have this specifically in them. So if you are planning on submitting your listing to other services such as Trulia and you are in a brokerage agreement, be careful.

Your real estate agent may not approve.
