I have several question for you and they may come out like finger pointing but I think as an outsider looking in I find the manner in which you’ve decided to reveal Oly illigitmate son is in question.
You’ve stated and have proved that the Mother of Matthew is very much aware of where Oly’s family resides, so why didn’t you or the Mother send them a note through the mail? Why did you wait so long to come forward with this information?
You’ve taken a very private family situation and have made it a very public one. This family has been through more than anyone could ever think to bare. So to make such a private statement public would definitely cause his family to put up their guard.
I think you should understand that her questions and concerns are legitimate due to the unfortnate circumstances that they’ve gone through these last three years. It is also Mother’s instinct to protect her children (no matter what) and I see that is what Matthew’s mother is doing. As much as she I’m sure she is thrilled with the idea that she has a grandson out there, as an outsider I think it is cruel to bring this new information to a public blog if you hadn’t already had a plan on how you would reunite Matthew with his biological father’s family. You had to realize that by presenting this information to her that she’d want to get to know this child. Especially if the Mother says she knows the Hoopers well. Then the Mother would have to realize that the Hooper’s would want the chance to meet the child. So I think the next time you think you are doing the right thing you should stop and think about all that are involved.

Peace~ The family of Matthew should have thought about this process before coming forward with the information. Its only human nature of a Mother to want to know her grandchildren. All the scenarios should have been thought out before “Oly’s son” decided to come forward with the information. Its called Common sense!
