How Much Trouble Can a Deer Cause In a Home? Lots…

Deer_headThere are many calls to an insurance adjuster that are hard to make, fortunately this Georgia family have a newspaper article to back them up after a deer destroyed the interior of their home.

A deer crashed through a double-pane window, landed in Walker’s living room and frantically scrambled through the house looking for a way out. “I just couldn’t believe it,” said Walker, 59, who lives in a wood-frame home near Riverdale. “I couldn’t believe it.”

The deer ran down the hallway into her bathroom, smashing the mirror. It rampaged through a bedroom, knocking over furniture, its blood splattered across the walls. The deer invaded the kitchen and knocked over aluminum pans and Tupperware.Walker called 911. She tried to sound calm, thinking the operator wouldn’t believe her story.

“I’m telling you the truth,” Walker recalled telling the operator. “A deer came through my house.” Clayton County police soon came. They goaded the animal – ‘big and brown,” according to Walker – to a door that led to her garage. The deer ran out through the garage, disappearing into the tree-lined neighborhood, police said. via the ajc.com.
