HuntsvilleI am a sucker for Top 10 lists as most of my regular readers will note, but this one is interesting. I have never heard of a Top 10 Comfiest Cities list.

The goal of the comparison is to identify the most attractive large or mid-sized Sunbelt metros. It gives the highest marks to well-rounded communities where growth is steady, the economy is strong, traffic moves reasonably well, the cost of living is moderate, and adults are well-educated. Created by Bizjournals.com, this study is interesting, to say the least.

  1. It will be interesting to see Austin move up in the coming years. This has been a break-out year with strong job growth and low unemployment (3.7% in October). According to economists I follow, this trend should continue. The University of Texas also cranks out a lot of people with business and engineering degrees. UT is a good school for both.

  2. Happy to see Sarasota/Bradenton/Venice as Number 5. What a beautiful area on Florida’s Gulf Coast. A cultural mecca unrivaled by anything in Florida. A shining gem!
