Top 10 Cities For Technology

Cartoon_geekWired has come out with a survey in their January issue that talks about the top cities in the country for technology. The places that if you want to geek out, you will find true happiness.

The criteria included: proximity to top-ranked engineering schools, tech jobs per capita, Geek2Geek Dating Service postings, Craigslists postings, Dorkbot attendees (I could not figure this out either), availability of free wifi, comic book stores per capita, and Circuit City stores per capita.

As you can see, this is not the most scientific of lists, but in it’s own sort of way, it probably is fairly accurate. So without further ado, here are the:

The Top 10 Cities For Technology (and Geeks):

  • Seattle
  • San Francisco
  • Los Angeles
  • Austin
  • Orlando
  • Raleigh–Durham
  • Pittsburgh
  • New York City
  • Boston
  • Washington DC
