Top 10 Counties for Millionaire Residents in 2007

MoneyhousesmallHouseholds with a net worth of over 1 million dollars have increased by 5 percent since last year according to a report released by TNS Global’s annual Affluent Market Research Program this week. The increase pails in comparison when the number jumped in 2004 as real estate appreciation was nearing its peak.

The average net worth of millionaire households was 2.5 million with the median age of the head of the household being 59.

  1. Los Angeles County with 268,136
  2. Cook County, Ill., 171,118
  3. Orange County, Calif., 116,157
  4. Maricopa County, Ariz., 113,414
  5. San Diego County, Calif., 102,138
  6. Harris County, Texas, 99,504
  7. Nassau County, N.Y., 79,704
  8. Santa Clara County, Calif., 74,824
  9. Palm Beach County, Fla., 71,221
  10. King County, Ore., 68,390
