You don’t have to pay a lot of money. Just google jtrek, go to the web site and download an application for your cell phone. It’s more feature rich and will always be with you – since it’s an application that operates within your cell phone. Using the cell phone camera, along with location information, emergency alerts are sent via text message, email along with your location. Check it out. It’s great for anyone, not just real estate agents.

As a broker/realtor, this product looks pretty good for showing homes. I feel that this product used with the product that my company Step Up Defend Yourself would be the perfect combination. I sell the new personal protection device. Along with this I include a Personal Safety Workshop from my own personal background and experiences. The device doesnt look like a weapon and is easily carried on your body any where. So the agents 911 and the device would make an excellent safety package. Great question. There are two ways you can use our system.

The original concept was based on the idea of using the system at Open Houses, where agents arrive before anyone else gets to the open house, and where the majority (at least from our research) of the crimes seemed to occur. In this case, the systems are designed to be extremly portable and easy to use. They are plug and play, meaning you take it to the open house, you plug it in, and it works.

Since introducing the product, we have been asked by many real estate agents to provide this service at every listing. This would provide ALL agents with a level of protection yet to be seen in this market. To make this cost effective, we are working with a number of the largest real estate companies here in the US to provide the systems on a rental basis. For a few dollars a month agents will be able to rent our systems and keep them at every listing. Because the pendants are universal, it wouldn’t matter what real estate company you are with, if you have a pendant, you can be protected while you show the house.
The rental market will be available sometime early next year in most markets.

So, does the system travel with the agent? I understand they would wear a pendant or bracelet…but what does it tie in to? Would they have to have a stationary base unit set up in each property they have listed?

That’s a pretty neat system, Tom.

I would imagine that as long as the costs are not excessive, these units should sell well.
