It looks like Centex Homes know’s what side of the bread is buttered now when it comes to selling their new homes. The company hosted an extravaganza at the W Hotel in Dallas for 200 real estate agents to remind them that they could show their homes if they like.
In a slow market, marketing a home becomes more and more important.
Homebuilder Centex Corp. last week picked up the tab for about 200 real estate agents to get the VIP treatment in the lounge on top of the W Hotel.
“Realtors are extremely important to us,” said Centex marketing director Kevin Jones. “There are a high percentage of Realtors bringing prospects to our neighborhoods, and we want to increase that.”
Centex officials say that as much as 40 percent of their buyer traffic is now generated by real estate agents.
No wonder homebuilders throughout North Texas are wooing Realtors. With more than 10,000 vacant new houses on the market, builders see outside agents as an army they can draft to sell homes. via the Dallas Morning News

Clever idea. You must be creative in a market like this.
