95-year-old Spanish Blogger Making Waves: Update 107 yr old Aussie is Oldest Now

For those of you that think you are too old to do this internet thing and start your own blog, here is the heartwarming story of Maria Amelia Lopez of Spain who decided to start her own blog. And did I mention she is 95 years old.

I really think this is awesome.

Her readers call her “the little granny,” and for eight months she has engrossed them with her ruminations on the present and her recollections of the past. Since her debut in cyberspace in December, María Amelia López, 95, has drawn thousands of readers from across the globe with an incisive blog.
The Internet journal (amis95.blogspot.com) is a meandering chronicle of old age sprinkled with vivid reminiscence and her take on contemporary life, from fashion and workers’ rights to Basque terrorism and Iran’s nuclear pretensions. Since her grandson Daniel, 35, set it up as a birthday present in December, López’s blog has received 350,000 hits and drawn responses and, increasingly, media attention from as far away as Chile, Venezuela, Russia, and Japan. via The Boston Globe

From the comments, a 107 Aussie name Olive Riley is the oldest blogger in the world. Check the comments to find links to her site.

Olive Riley,a feisty107-year-old Australian great-great-grandmother, is the current titleholder. She is probably the world’s oldest YouTuber as well.

  1. Greetings from Sydney, Australia.

Maria Amelia Lopez WAS the world’s oldest blogger, but Olive Riley,a feisty107-year-old Australian great-great-grandmother, is the current titleholder. She is probably the world’s oldest YouTuber as well.

Physically frail but mentally alert, Olive raised her three children on her own, survived two world wars , the Great Depression of the 1930s, and worked as a barmaid, an egg sorter, and a station (ranch) cook in many parts of Australia.

Olive’s blog, The Life of Riley, has a huge Internet following. Prepared by her friend, international film maker Mike Rubbo, and based on his interviews with Olive, it attracts hundreds of enthusiastic comments from many countries, and from bloggers of all ages. It’s posted on the Internet at http://www.allaboutolive.com.au/

  2. Great article on the real estate happenings, I really enjoy reading your posts. Just for your information, Donald Trump is in big trouble right now with his real estate empire. I hope everyone can pull through this slump!!
