Top 10 States With Least Amount of Foreclosures in 3rd Quarter, 2007

 You would think by reading in the papers that foreclosures are happening on every street in America. This is far from the truth as these 10 states will show. Vermont has only 25 homes in foreclosure and the Dakotas are not far behind.

Most of the foreclosure activity is concentrated in 10 states while these 10 states it is barely an issue outside of the newsroom.

Top 10 States With Least Amount of  Foreclosures in 3rd Quarter, 2007

  1. Vermont – 1 in 12,294 households
  2. South Dakota – 1 in 4,693 households
  3. North Dakota – 1 in 4,288 households
  4. West Virginia – 1 in 3,071 households
  5. Mississippi  – 1 in 2,501 households
  6. Maine – 1 in 1,601 households
  7. South Carolina – 1 in 1,493 households
  8. Montana – 1 in 1,356 households
  9. New Mexico – 1 in 1,348 households
  10. Hawaii – 1 in 1,345 households

  1. Texas is also doing well. Although we have a lot of foreclosures, it is because we are a big state with a large population. Foreclosures in Texas have dropped 4 years in a row.
