Linda Stein, Realtor to the Stars, Killed By Assistant Natavia Lowery

In what has to be one of the more sordid stories in the real estate world, the assistant to Linda Stein has confessed to the bludgeoning murder of her abusive boss. According to the confession of Natavia Lowery, Linda Stein was not the ideal boss.

During the 4 month employment Stein repeatedly was abusive by constantly yelling at her and even blowing pot smoke in her face while she worked. Of course most people in that situation would just walk away and find a new job, but not this time. Of course, waving a yoga stick in another’s face is not the best employee relations technique.

Ms. Stein “used profanity and derogatory language and waved the yoga stick at her,” Mr. Kelly said, summarizing Ms. Lowery’s admission. “Lowery said she grabbed the yoga stick from Stein’s hands and struck her with it.”
Ms. Lowery told the detectives that she used the pole-like stick (which another official said might be a Pilates stick) to hit Ms. Stein in the back of the head and neck, officials said. At five feet three inches, according to her driver’s license, Ms. Lowery would have been only slightly taller than the five-foot Ms. Stein.
The killing took place between 12:15 and 1 p.m., the police said. Then, carrying a bag, Ms. Lowery left, locked the door behind her, and was caught on surveillance tape, officials said.
Detectives said that some people they interviewed after the killing said they had tried to call Ms. Stein on her cellphone but got her assistant, who said she was not available. Mr. Kelly said that Ms. Lowery left the apartment shortly after 1 p.m.  via the  New York Times.

  1. We were terribly shoked to hear of Linda’s death.

  2. Tom,

It always amazes me how people can come to the point where they have been pushed over the edge into a homicidal rage.

If I had the same condition as the murderess, I would have done in my old high school basketball coach long ago!
