Loving Market Economies, Winnepeg Seminar Brings Buyers To Arizona

Chart_upA weak dollar, a soft market, and snow bunnies is a great combination for a couple of Phoenix real estate agents. They got away from the water cooler complaining about the slow market, headed up to Winnipeg and put on a seminar on buying housing in Phoenix.

And guess what, they have a raft of potential buyers in a weak market! Of course this can not be surprising when it is January in Canada and the idea of an Arizona vacation home has been a dream for many. But add to this cocktail a weak US dollar, housing prices that are dropping, and you have an opportunity for many that they thought was out of their reach.

So now Diane Olsen and Steve Lauritano have a thriving business while others around them can only complain.

My question for you is over the weekend, how are you going to grow your business this weekend. In times of turmoil there are always greater opportunities for those willing to think outside of the box.

My phone has been ringing non-stop,” Diane Olson said in an interview Friday. “It’s quite amazing.”
Olson and Steve Lauritano of Arizona Pro Realty, Inc. in Phoenix said they were expecting 60 people to attend their free seminar Thursday night. They got more than 300.
The agents say Arizona has become a bargain shop for vacation properties as home builders, financially distressed homeowners, and financial institutions scramble to unload properties in the wake of the U.S. subprime mortgage and housing crisis. Winnipeg Free Press
