Looking to get ahead, head to where the government is the strongest. That is the result of a recent study from Forbes on the Top 10 Places to Get Ahead.

6 of the top 10 counties that offered the best overall increase in median income. With  the ramp up of government spending it is no great surprise that 6 of the top 10 regions are just outside of Washington DC.

  2. Forsyth County, Ga.
  3. Calvert County, Md.
  4. Loudoun County, Va.
  5. Charles County, Md.
  6. Prince William County, Va.
  7. Anne Arundel County, Md.
  8. Delaware County, Ohio
  9. Sussex County, N.J.
  10. Williamson County, Tenn.
