This is a topic currently being debated in our local Real Estate Board here in Toronto Canada. Online, we currently do not have access nor authority to reproduce anyone elses listing. The legislation the Board members are attempting to pass will monotize listings so that all local Realtor's ® will have the rights to reproduce other Realtor's ® listings on their own websites. We are slowly trying to catch up to our American counterparts. Until we do, online marketing will continue to have it's challenges locally. Great discussion!

Great thoughts! I would like to see some research/empirical data to see the current trends of what people are doing to find real estate/realtors. Are they Googling san diego real estate or are they looking at Realtor.com first? Personally, I don't like realtor.com etc.. and would think that people would rather google to find an agent in their area and search the MLS in that area. Am I wrong? What is the trend? What do the percentages look like? Thanks
