Down For Two Hours - Server Got Tired From MSN Link

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Had a nice run today with being linked to by the front page of MSN. For 4 hours they linked to one of my stories on the front page in a real estate box.

Of course there is a down side to the story, the hosting company, HostGator, took me down because I was slowing down the shared hosting that I have The Real Estate Bloggers on.

I am not complaining, when you get nearly 10 thousand visitors in 4 hours it does put a great deal of stress on the server.

One word of advice though is to contact the support guys at Hostgator and ask them to check it out if you get a 403 error. They were great and within 10 minutes of me finding out I was down, got me back up.

  1. some problems are definitely better than others! ;)

  2. Definately not complaining. As real estate blogs become accepted in the mainstream we will hopefully all face this issue on occasion.

  3. Gotta admit, I’m jealous. I’d love to have to suffer through that problem with my blog! :)

    Welcome back to the interweb.
