Realestate.com.au Glitch Causes 17% of Leads Not To Arrive

Banging_head_against_wallReal estate agents in Australia are spitting mad at Real Estate Australia, owner of realestate.com.au, the leading real estate portal in the country. The lead generating engine for the company has failed to forward nearly 17 percent of leads that came through the system due to an email glitch.

Real estate agents are upset, and rightly so, as their reputation has been damaged with this incident. When folks are expecting a reply from an agent and do not get it, they tend to tell the world that the agent blew them off. Like having a bad meal at a restaurant, people tend to spread bad news faster than good news.

For the agents that were paying the exorbitant fee’s to realestate.com.au there should be a swift and massive re-compensation as it is not only the immediate income they have lost, but the loss in reputation.

And Zillow and Trulia, it may be time to head down under, as it looks like there is a great opportunity awaiting you. The proverbial low hanging fruit.

Agents, who pay about $650 a month to have realestate.com.au connect them with home buyers, are furious and baffled as to how such a seemingly basic error at a high-tech internet company could go unnoticed for so long.

The delays meant many leads were lost and agents complained of damage to their reputations caused by the significant delays in following up queries. via smh.com.au.
