Robert Harris Homes Shuts Down – Homeowners and In Construction Properties May Have Liens

Robert-harris-homes-goneI think this is a story we are going to see more and more of.

Midsized builder Robert Harris Homes out of Woodstock, Ga has shut down. The metro Atlanta builder shut their doors leaving many with homes under construction with half built homes and no easy way to get their deposits back.

The website for Robert Harris Homes has been taken offline further complicating the lives of buyers.

There are reports that homes that have been completed are having construction liens placed upon them as contractors try to get paid.

This is going to be a huge mess for anyone who has bought a home from Robert Harris Homes recently.

“We are at an impasse on these negotiations and will seek other avenues of restructuring,” Harris’ letter says.
Sales agents for Robert Harris Homes were told last week to pack up their belongings and head home.
The Woodstock-based company has built more than 2,500 houses, mostly in Georgia, and a few in Manatee County, Fla. It recently expanded to North Frisco, Texas.
In Georgia, the company worked in Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett and Jackson counties. via the ajc.com.
