Million Dollar Listing Star Josh Flagg Arrested For Art Theft

As Bravo rolls out their second season of “Million Dollar Listing” they are facing a bit of a problem. One of the stars of the series has been arrested on charges he has stolen some very expensive pieces of art.
Josh Flagg, the star of next season’s Bravo show, “Million Dollar Listing,” may be the victim of one of the oldest proverbs in the world. But in his case, a picture may be worth a thousand days in the slammer.
Josh’s day job is an estate broker — selling expensive stuff that dead rich folks owned. Josh was arrested for allegedly stealing ridiculously expensive art that was part of the estates he was handling, including Picassos and Chagalls. via TMZ
I wonder if the pressure of trying to maintain the illusion of success while waiting for “Million Dollar Listing” was too much for young guy. When the homes did not sell and the money stopped rolling in, did he panic and not want to seem like a failure? These shows typically are filmed far in advance and in the downtime can be dangerous for young professionals in a volatile market.
Season 2 revolves instead around three agents: Chad Rogers, Josh Flagg and the lone holdover from Season 1, Madison Hildebrand. None of them are over 30, and all are as focused on landing the next deal as they are with themselves. Mr. Rogers spends an inordinate amount of time on his hair and is given to making statements like, “I have a gorgeous girlfriend because image is everything in real estate.” via NYTimes.com
UPDATE: TMZ is now reporting that a photographer took picture of the stolen loot hanging in Josh’s house. His lawyer explains that it is past the statute of limitations so there is nothing any one can do.

I have a hard time believing those guys this season are as successful as they claim to be. they are way too young and seem so unprofessional. that guy with that bowl cut especially peeves me. it just all seems contrived.

I especially dislike the pop up window showing the potential commission earned each time they get close to putting a transaction together. They never showed the fees of plastic surgeons on “Dr 90210″–why do they feel compelled to do so on this show?

I think Josh is sooo sexy…Ok, got that out of the way. Yes, the show will go on because, hey, people love to watch other peoples drama. If they are making as much as it seems they are making, more power to them. The market is soft right now no doubt, but even if they aren’t doing as well as Bravo would like us to believe, at least their faces are out there, and a little publicity never hurts in any business…scandals and all

Geno, we may be schmucks (in your own little world), but if you support Joshes work ethic because he has everything you want, and probably more, you are a tool. Life is about more than fame and money. I’d never do a quarter of the things this guy would do for free (and his little buzz) for even a little piece of the pie.
Your on his nuts and would probably lick his a$$ per his request, but he wouldn’t lift a finger for a naive person like you. In fact, people like you are who this guy takes money off of and give him the buzz he enjoys after screwing you over. Why do you think certain clients (uber rich, you know, the level Josh Flagg manipulates people to get to, and can still only dream of reaching it) won’t work with the guy even with all his “success”? They see right through him! Wake up stupid!
Did you not see him screw over his dentist? He looked fishy the whole time as he took that $300,000 check, smiled when he told the man it fell through and needed a drink all the while. Did you also miss all the pills the prick has to take everyday @ only 22 years old? He needs to drink and get hopped up on pills to maintain his lifestyle earned through manipulation. Guilt.

Josh is a fantastic negotiator. Josh is probably being framed by some scum bag property owner who is running out of cash. I believe Josh is innocent. He may push the envelope for his clients but he does not cross the line. Chad is aggresive, very professional, and speak his mind, and has earned my respect for closing the deals as a business man. Both these guys are the best of the best. If I wanted my home sold they would have my business hands down. Their track record is amazing. Jason

I love the show but the only thing that really gets at me is the way Chad speaks. He is always talking about how much everything is worth or his image…..It seems as though people like him are always trying to prove themselves…But why????? People would like him if he was more real…He needs to stop being so superficial and stop trying to prove everything because we can all see he is a great worker and businessman. It just gets corny when all he talks about is how much everything is and how famous people are and how image is everything….He must have had a childhood where he was always trying to prove himself to people to be accepted. I agree with Sarah about the drug thing. She is right, he probably did steal the paintings to fund his drug addiction. Josh Flagg mentioned on the show that he is best friends with Jason Davis a.k.a. “Gummi Bear.” Well that pretty much says it all because Jason Davis is a heroin addict and his brother Brandon Davis is a cocaine addict. If you don’t believe me, look them up online, they have both been busted with drugs. My guess is that if Josh Flagg’s best friend is a heroin addict and his best friend’s brother is a coke addict and now Josh Flagg is stealing paintings, he’s probably an addict as well.

To “DivafromMalibu”: Look, no one is doubting that Josh is successful or that Josh had loads of money or anything like that, at least I don’t doubt it. He was born in Beverly Hills with the silver spoon in his ass, of course he has money. But he’s a SCUM BAG for stealing paintings and don’t say he didn’t do it because if he didn’t, why would he post $100,000 bail? All I want to know is why would he steal paintings when he’s got loads of cash. Like me and Sarah said, the only theory that could explain it is “drugs.” If you don’t believe this whole painting thing, well look this one up. Does anyone here happen to know that Josh Flagg was also arrested for stealing expensive sculptures for the Marcia Israel estate that he was handling? I bet you didn’t! Look it up on TMZ, a private investigator took photos of Marcia Israel’s belongings inside of Josh’s house through Josh’s window. Explain that one “DivafromMalibu”!
