As Bravo rolls out their second season of “Million Dollar Listing” they are facing a bit of a problem. One of the stars of the series has been arrested on charges he has stolen some very expensive pieces of art.
Josh Flagg, the star of next season’s Bravo show, “Million Dollar Listing,” may be the victim of one of the oldest proverbs in the world. But in his case, a picture may be worth a thousand days in the slammer.
Josh’s day job is an estate broker — selling expensive stuff that dead rich folks owned. Josh was arrested for allegedly stealing ridiculously expensive art that was part of the estates he was handling, including Picassos and Chagalls. via TMZ
I wonder if the pressure of trying to maintain the illusion of success while waiting for “Million Dollar Listing” was too much for young guy. When the homes did not sell and the money stopped rolling in, did he panic and not want to seem like a failure? These shows typically are filmed far in advance and in the downtime can be dangerous for young professionals in a volatile market.
Season 2 revolves instead around three agents: Chad Rogers, Josh Flagg and the lone holdover from Season 1, Madison Hildebrand. None of them are over 30, and all are as focused on landing the next deal as they are with themselves. Mr. Rogers spends an inordinate amount of time on his hair and is given to making statements like, “I have a gorgeous girlfriend because image is everything in real estate.” via NYTimes.com
UPDATE: TMZ is now reporting that a photographer took picture of the stolen loot hanging in Josh’s house. His lawyer explains that it is past the statute of limitations so there is nothing any one can do.

I have a hard time believing those guys this season are as successful as they claim to be. they are way too young and seem so unprofessional. that guy with that bowl cut especially peeves me. it just all seems contrived.
Why does Bravo have the most vapid shows with the most loathsome people?? Stop trying to be E! or VH1.

If you watch this show, you can see Josh is the shadiest realtor on the show.
I especially dislike the pop up window showing the potential commission earned each time they get close to putting a transaction together. They never showed the fees of plastic surgeons on “Dr 90210″–why do they feel compelled to do so on this show?
As long as this horrendous show continues to allow these kids to make total asses of themselves, they will remain in the news. Warts and all. I’d love to see this kid try to worm his way out of this one.

More people will watch the show for more drama not reality. Seeing rich kids get in trouble is a new drug, it makes us feel better about our poor, hard working lives.
I think Josh is sooo sexy…Ok, got that out of the way. Yes, the show will go on because, hey, people love to watch other peoples drama. If they are making as much as it seems they are making, more power to them. The market is soft right now no doubt, but even if they aren’t doing as well as Bravo would like us to believe, at least their faces are out there, and a little publicity never hurts in any business…scandals and all

Josh is a tool. He is so unethical and would kill his own grandmother (poor sole) if it meant making a deal. Chad exposed him as a liar on last night’s episode(9/9/08). Josh really has to be an ass to make Chad look good!!
You guys hating on Josh are schmucks! he’s 10 times more successful than you online bums, hells he’s famous & you guys are nobodys.

Geno, we may be schmucks (in your own little world), but if you support Joshes work ethic because he has everything you want, and probably more, you are a tool. Life is about more than fame and money. I’d never do a quarter of the things this guy would do for free (and his little buzz) for even a little piece of the pie.
Your on his nuts and would probably lick his a$$ per his request, but he wouldn’t lift a finger for a naive person like you. In fact, people like you are who this guy takes money off of and give him the buzz he enjoys after screwing you over. He says himself he gets off on making the deal itself, not the money, and the way he deals is like a scumbag through manipulation.
Why do you think certain clients (uber rich, you know, the level Josh Flagg manipulates people to get to, and can still only dream of reaching it) won’t work with the guy even with all his “success”? They see right through him! Wake up stupid!
Did you not see him screw over his dentist? He looked fishy the whole time as he took that $300,000 check, smiled when he told the man it fell through and needed a drink all the while. Did you also miss all the pills the prick has to take everyday @ only 22 years old? He needs to drink and get hopped up on pills to maintain his lifestyle earned through manipulation. Guilt.

You have to be a 13 year old because you do not understand anything. Everybody in real estate try to “manipulate” to sell the house. Actually every rich man manipulate to make money.
Josh is a fantastic negotiator. Josh is probably being framed by some scum bag property owner who is running out of cash. I believe Josh is innocent. He may push the envelope for his clients but he does not cross the line. Chad is aggresive, very professional, and speak his mind, and has earned my respect for closing the deals as a business man. Both these guys are the best of the best. If I wanted my home sold they would have my business hands down. Their track record is amazing. Jason
I love the show but the only thing that really gets at me is the way Chad speaks. He is always talking about how much everything is worth or his image…..It seems as though people like him are always trying to prove themselves…But why????? People would like him if he was more real…He needs to stop being so superficial and stop trying to prove everything because we can all see he is a great worker and businessman. It just gets corny when all he talks about is how much everything is and how famous people are and how image is everything….He must have had a childhood where he was always trying to prove himself to people to be accepted. And the hair, I know he cut it but seriously GROW UP ALREADY….Your not Peter Pan!!!

I have always gotten the vibe that Josh has a drug problem. My theory is he stole the paintings to pay for the drugs!
I agree with Sarah about the drug thing. She is right, he probably did steal the paintings to fund his drug addiction. Josh Flagg mentioned on the show that he is best friends with Jason Davis a.k.a. “Gummi Bear.” Well that pretty much says it all because Jason Davis is a heroin addict and his brother Brandon Davis is a cocaine addict. If you don’t believe me, look them up online, they have both been busted with drugs. My guess is that if Josh Flagg’s best friend is a heroin addict and his best friend’s brother is a coke addict and now Josh Flagg is stealing paintings, he’s probably an addict as well.
Josh is very, very successful, and has helped some prominent people I know. Stop hating this young man, because of his sales genius in real estate and helping the wealthy. You all need to get over yourself and find a career like he has…More power to you Josh…You are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To “DivafromMalibu”: Look, no one is doubting that Josh is successful or that Josh had loads of money or anything like that, at least I don’t doubt it. He was born in Beverly Hills with the silver spoon in his ass, of course he has money. But he’s a SCUM BAG for stealing paintings and don’t say he didn’t do it because if he didn’t, why would he post $100,000 bail? All I want to know is why would he steal paintings when he’s got loads of cash. Like me and Sarah said, the only theory that could explain it is “drugs.” If you don’t believe this whole painting thing, well look this one up. Does anyone here happen to know that Josh Flagg was also arrested for stealing expensive sculptures for the Marcia Israel estate that he was handling? I bet you didn’t! Look it up on TMZ, a private investigator took photos of Marcia Israel’s belongings inside of Josh’s house through Josh’s window. Explain that one “DivafromMalibu”!
Guys wake up, most these guys like in all walks of life, are the scions of successful people. It is just the way things are from Hollywood to Wall St nepotism keeps the class system in place. Dont get me wrong, America is the land of opportunity but usually that opportunity comes with a years of busting your ass. The sad part is people will see these posers on TV and assume they’re real estate wunderkinds, foregoing more experienced and accomplished professionals.

I just was so unfortable watching Josh get the axe when he decided to show up dressed like a sweaty armpitted “professional” ready to negotiate a multi million dollar realestate deal. Career professionalism 101…”Dress for Success” Duh….I was very uncomfortable for him…
All three of these guys are complete douche bags. I tried watching the show twice and gave up. Who comes up with this sh*t? Just goes to show that some people will watch anything on tv.

Hey…. I kinda like the show. Josh is my favorite one, is it me or does he look like he could be Ringo Star’s kid. Don’t really care about Bravo making it an issue about Madison’s sexuality. But then again I am watching Bravo. Chad however, I think he’s in love with himself. I luv this show and everything on Bravo. I do agree though that Chad is the biggest douche bag tool I have ever seen. He was probably teased and beat up as a child, hell I want to beat him up as an adult and I’m a woman. I can’t believe he can even get a girlfriend let alone a pretty one. Has to be for publicity. And the skate-boarder look he has going, please, grow up u friggen moron,u look about as professional as a piece of shit with legs. Sorry about Josh really like him. The other guys should come down to North Myrtle beach in Cherry Grove South Carolina and sell their rich clinets a second home or ocean front condo ,for 239,000to 1 millon for a home on the ocean. Ocean is Ocean we have great beaches here and it is cheap. Christine
The funny thing about Chad and how much money he thinks he’s bringing in (last season he had a deal about his car) is that his car is a rental. Tools rent the lifestyle they want and can’t afford.
I wouldn’t read too much into chad leasing his car. real estate agents frequently lease a car, it can be easier to write off a lease as a business expense. plus if you are getting a new car often, it makes more sense to lease than to buy.
These guys actually look and behave like young gay porn stars. They have access to some exclusive fully furnished homes for private film shoots using this show as a cover.
Josh stole expensive art. Did not know that. I think he is the best real estate agent on the show. Atleast the first season he seemed to move more houses than the others. It sure seems like he sells more overall than Chad. Chad is annoying to me and I wonder if it is an act for the show. It is funny to watch sometimes and entertaining.

I have half a brain. I watch Bravo sometimes and I watch this show when it comes on. I love the beautiful properties and seeing the design choices that are made in the homes. I find these guys interesting mainly because they are doing something I am not. I care little if these tv show entertainers are ethical or ego-maniacal. It is a tv show. Unreal in some ways and very expository in others. You have to take it all for what it is.
About Josh – if he has to slow down and reassess his life – be it for theft, drugs or whatever – it can’t do him any harm. I sincerely hope that he finds a way out of this mess that will cause him to grow.
The show is ok, however, it would do a lot better in my opinion if that dude Chad would stop acting like he’s straight. You can tell this is not “Reality” tv as it has already demonstrated that they lie when they would like people to believe the obvious, which is that this dude is as gay as they come. And don’t bring that metrosexual crap on as an excuse. Is the sexy chick who plays his girlfriend for real? I mean common, if they are a real couple, you know that they are just using one another. This gay dude is focused on image and as much as he wantst o hid the fact that he’s gay, buddy it’s not working. As for the girl, she may be with him just for whatever lifestyle he has to offer. In the end, it could also just be all an act. They could just be playing boyfriend/girlfriend. Not that everyone really cares about your homosexuality Chad, but don’t you think it would give a sense of reality to “Reality TV” if you just tell people what everyone already knows? Stop the BS.
I can’t prove it, but I feel both Chad and Josh are gay or bi. As Chad says, Victoria is beautiful but he’s with her for image only. I believe him. I think the ONLY reason he’s with her is to have a beard. You’d think he would be all over her, but he seems more affectionate with that pretend dog and more interested in “popping the question” to have 50% ownership of the DOG than to have 100% of Victoria. They went away on a romantic weekend, and he treated her like she was his sister. He is positively robotic around her, yet seems relaxed talking the Madison, who’s openly bi. Josh is very troubled and restless, yet we don’t see or hear about any woman in his life. He spends his free time with his grandmother. I’m thinking they are all into men.
Now, it is the real estate business, it is also the luxury business. Selling luxury items requires a lot more “show” sometimes because of the caliber of your market.
Who cares whether these guys are gay or not. It really is irrelevant to the show. Now to their careers it may be a bit more relevant especially with the kind of exposure.
In the exotic/luxury business there are a lot of phony clients as well. I used to be in the exotic car business for a little while and you get a lot of people that are not buyers and that will waste your time. Commission based sales of these kind of items also require an investment on the agents side. “Dropping the bomb” usually shows who’s a buyer or not, after examining the kind of person you’re dealing with of course.
When someone wants to make a large investment on an item, they also want to feel comfortable about who is doing the deal for them. And in this case image IS everything.
However, Chad does seem a little disconnected from reality and may be just a part played in order to stir emotion inside viewers (which is pretty much all tv is nowadays, mostly)
And to christine in North Carolina, while your point is good natured. In real estate, location is key. You can have the most beautiful luxurious house, but where its located is what determines how much its worth. Location can break deals
Last season I did not like Josh. I think his grandmother got after him and now he seems nicer. Madison tells it like it is, there is nothing pretense about him. Chad is gay and doesn’t know it. Victoria is a beautiful person and is wasting her time on Chad. His job and the dog mean more to him than her. He is really naive and immature. I am not trying to be rude but that is how it is seems. I still remember the faces of his friends at his party when he acted like a 10 yr old eating the faces on the cake and also when he was unnormally crazy about being half guardian or owner of the dog. Too strange for everyone.
Josh and Madison have personality which counts for a lot in the real estate business!

First of all if Josh comes from money and he supposedly makes money there would be no reason for him to steal paintings and sculptures to support a drug habit….that just makes no sense so stop speculating on what you seriously dont know. If Josh does have a drug habit and his best friends are druggies I”m sure he’s got a hook up. Most people that are rich or affluent that have a drug problem usually have a stash to supply them a lifetime Im sure.

As much as I despise reality tv with utter disdain and passion because it creates less work for us struggling actors out there, the real star of this show is Madison. He is soooo hot Damn sexy that I can’t stand it. He has a certain charisma that the other two boys lack. he is classy, poised, and he is quite personable and Im sure he will have a longstanding career in real estate..
don’t know about all this, so I’m in no position to place an opinion. I will say though that Josh is my fav so far when it comes to real estate. Madison is cool, cus he wastes less time with talking and bullshitting. Chad needs to get shot….who knew people like him actually exist, annoying down to the bone.
I’m not a fan of Chad but I think Josh has real issues. He provoked Chad on the last two episodes for no reason other than his own amusement. Then on the finale pulls some passive aggressive crap with “let’s call a truce” and your mother is a lovely person, what happened to you–all in one breath. Really twisted stuff.

Really? I couldn’t believe it that a million dollar star arrested for just an art theft. Maybe I assumed that he might be in a dangerous drugs and this is the reason why he did thing unbelievable things.
I find it hard to believe that these guys are as successful as the show makes them out to be. They are selling homes in one of the worst real estate markets in the nation.
