When Your Home Stager Runs An Escort Service In Your Home

This story on a home manager using an empty home as a place where she ran her escort service that was on the Fox 5 Atlanta News last night and is absolutely horrific in my opinion.

The homeowner had a house they were trying to sell sit empty for 2 years. They hire a home staging company put a manager in a Roswell, Georgia home. The home manager’s job is to live in the home and keep it ready to show. That was not the case in this situation.

Instead according to the investigation the home manager was running an escort service out of the home under the name of Sophia. The Fox 5 I-Team investigated the situation and aired the story last night.

Now I have to say this is not typical and must rarely happen. If I did have a live in home manager in an empty home I would have in the contract that if any illegal activity was occurring in the house the contract would be null and void. Otherwise you are in a tenant situation and could face difficulty getting the person out of the home.

  1. My home was vacant for 3 months - and the realtor’s showing the home repeatedly left the doors unlocked. Eventually we had a buyer - but while the sale was “pending” waiting for closure, the teenage son of the buyer stopped by after school, found the door unlocked, and called some friends for a party. Who called a few more friends, and so on. Who brought a few kegs. Before they were done, over 200 drunk teens had taken over the property, spilling onto a busy street at night, climbing over the fences into neighbor’s yards.

The entire on duty police force responded and put an end to this real estate party. They even found the culprit. The good news was that no one got hurt and the buyer agreed to take the house “as is” (while we never said anything, I assume they thought we’d file suit against them and the realtors).

Thus, the above story does not surprise me one little bit. There is way too much sloppiness and sleeze in the real estate sector.

  2. I hope you stuck around for part three… that was one of my listings. But it was a good thing.

For Eric, I have had the same issue occasionally. I let the brokers know what their agents are up to. I know exactly how has been in my properties and when they were there.

Unfortunately, there are irresponsible people in all walks of life.
