Tragedy has struck a Phoenix real estate broker in his office yesterday. Irving Shuman, age 84, was found dead in his office and his car is missing.

While this is an isolated case, as a real estate agent you are always exposed to the public, often in situations where you are alone. Remember to follow the basic precautions in letting others know where you will be.

Our prayers go out to Irving Shuman’s family and co-workers.

Irving Shuman, a prominent member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, was found at 7:15 p.m. at Standard Realty and Development Co. at 7th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Police are looking for Shuman’s car, a 1998 gold Lexus GS300 four door sedan with Arizona license plate 480 CAT. The car, which was missing from the scene, also had a black plate on the front that says “Gammage.”

Friends were shocked by the news. “He was my idol,” said Ken Schnitzer, 38, a close friend to Shuman. “He was beloved by many people in Phoenix, especially in the Jewish community.” via AZ Central

Update: It looks like the Police have 2 men in custody.

Phoenix police are reportedly closer Friday to making arrests in the death of an 84-year-old businessman found murdered in his office Tuesday night.

Sources close to the investigation told ABC15 Thursday night that two men were taken into custody in California and that Phoenix police detectives were heading there. via ABC15
