A Great Read For Real Estate Professional Getting Ready For 2009

I came across this PDF and thought it would be perfect for those who make their living in real estate. Tom Asacker’s Nine Predictions for 2009. For those who make their livings not picking up a paycheck every other week in an industry that is in turmoil, life can be very scary.

Yet as we watch our 9–5 friends out there, the feeling that one’s job is secure anywhere is a bit of a myth.

Tom’s predictions are nothing new, yet they are packaged in such a way that I felt inspired when I read them this morning. Yes, life can be tough at times. But as I say to my two young boys every day, life is not fair. And thank God for that.

When you look out at the condition most of the world lives in their whole lives, 99 percent would love to live just one day as we do. So dig a little deeper in yourself for the coming year. It will be rocky, but the opportunities for those who want it will always be there.

Now go read Tom’s predictions and print them out. It will be well worth your time.

Here is a taster:

#2 Many things will change, but many people will not

Most of us will be doing, thinking and feeling more or less the same things this time next year as we are now. If you don’t want that sameness, grab yourself by the collar and yank yourself off of that comfortable, well-worn path and onto the one less traveled by you. Let go of your past and grab onto your future. Because while you’re waiting for that grand insight to point you in the right direction, the beauty of life is flying right on by. “Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.” Frank Herbert

  1. Good point that business is not just about making money, but also about living and giving. The hard part is living and giving without going broke.
