Steven-GoodA tragedy has occurred in Chicago as Steven Good, chairman of Sheldon Good & Co., has been found dead of a supposed self inflicted gun shot wound. The popular and successful auctioneer was an active member of the Chicago real estate and charity community.

We do not know if the pressure of the real estate downturn led to this unfortunate situation, but it would not be surprising. For many people their professional reputation is their most important asset. When times get tough it can be very disconcerting if not terrifying.

RIP Steven.

Mr. Good, 52, was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. They said his body was found in a car parked at the Max McGraw Wildlife Refuge near East Dundee.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Department said Mr. Good, of Highland Park, was found about 8:20 a.m. inside a red Jaguar. Police said there was no suicide note.
Mr. Good was the chairman of Sheldon Good & Co., a Chicago firm that specializes in real estate auctions. via  CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

  1. This is pretty sad that some feel the only way out is to commit suicide. Those that commit suicide aren’t thinking about all the people they are hurting by committing this senseless act.

  2. Deeply Sorry to note the sad death of Mr. Stev Good. May God blee him.

  3. I had the pleasure to work with Steven on a beachside development
in Mazatlan, Mexico last year. He was charming, intelligent, witty, honest, knowledgeable and generous. Steven was also a great story teller who often spoke of his deep love for his family. I was saddened to hear of his death.
