New York Yankees Hire Prudential Douglas Elliman To Sell Luxury Seats
Sometimes the New York Yankees are just brilliant. With a slowing real estate market and tougher economic times they went to the people who have the time, contacts, and inclination to sell their luxury boxes and premiums seats in the new Yankee Stadium.
Real estate agents with the top New York firm Prudential Douglas Elliman.
Think about it, the agents will have the chance to earn a commission working their Rolodex calling about the hottest tickets in town while being able to touch base and maybe find a prospect for a home sale at the same time.
I know that I would take a call about buying Yankee premium seats if I still lived in New York even if I was not able to buy just to learn the pricing and what is available. What a great way to get through to a client and make a touch.
“They have some customers we may not be able to reach, and they can, so we entered into a nonexclusive agreement with them,” Randy Levine, the Yankees’ president, said Tuesday. “They have customers they have sold real estate to, or will in the future, and they can sell our seats in an innovative way.”
Levine said that hiring Prudential Douglas Elliman was not an indication of a slow sales pace on high-end seats at the $1.3 billion stadium. Seven luxury suites remained to be sold, out of 59, and about 1,000 of 4,000 premium seats were available.
The Yankees hope Douglas Elliman will accelerate the sales of seats that range in cost from $350 to $2,500 a game. NYTimes.com.

If they’re the “hottest tickets in town,” why did the Yankees have to hire Prudential Douglas Elliman to sell them?
And isn’t that Citi Field in the graphic rather than Yankee Stadium?

This is classic NY Pinstripe action! I love it. The Yankees Organization never fails to amaze and inspire. Their presence down here in the Tampa, FL area is huge. In fact, it’s only been since this past season that our local Tampa Bay Rays organization has managed to gain back even a little bit of the local baseball market share!

I am not sure on the field. I will go check, it was supposed to be the New Yankee Stadium but I could be wrong. Thanks for the heads up.

Agents selling high-end seats is a brilliant untapped market.
In addition to having the Rolodex to make this happen most good agents have the skill set required to demo almost any type of “real estate”. (even if it happens to be inside a stadium)
