Relocating: Atlanta Named Top Destination By UHaul in 2008

UHaulU-Haul has released their annual survey of top destinations for one way truck deliveries in 2008 and Atlanta is at the top of the list. Following closely is Houston and then the two beleaguered cities of Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

It is interesting to note that all of these cities has had severe drops in home prices yet are attracting families to the cities. There must still be a great deal of hope and opportunity seen from afar even when we who are living in them just see the negatives.

1. ATLANTA, Ga.
2. HOUSTON, Texas
3. LOS ANGELES, Calif.
4. LAS VEGAS, Nev.
5. DENVER, Colo.
6. PORTLAND, Ore.
7. CHICAGO, Ill.
8. SAN ANTONIO, Texas
9. AUSTIN, Texas
10. ORLANDO, Fla.

U-Haul Names Atlanta as Top 2008 Destination.

  2. Glad to see that Las Vegas still ranks high on a list like this. Our economy has been hit rather hard, so jobs aren’t all that easy to come by. But the city still has many pluses, like the weather, the Strip on sale, golf all over the place and now that real estate prices here have slumped, plenty of affordable housing.

  3. That is interesting considering the national head lines show Atlanta is in dire straights. I would be more impressed to hear that United Van Lines, Mayflower, and Atlanta Vans were the ones that stated that Atlanta was their lead destination. Do-it-yourselfers may just be out of money.
