Hey Coldwell Banker brokers, franchisees and agents. Stop servicing your clients this week and ignore your business, corporate has a new job for you.

This week is “beg the government for more handouts week” at Coldwell Banker. You see, during the first week of June (should be one of the busiest weeks of the year) the corporate types at Coldwell Banker want you to go visit your elected officials.

Why you ask, so that when Jim Gillespie, CEO of Coldwell Banker goes to Washington, he can tell them of how poorly you are doing and how you need more government help.

Here is a hint, Jim and the folks at corporate, focus on driving your business instead of looking for Washington to give you things. If you really want your top associates and leaders to ignore their business to court Washington, then maybe the companies priorities are skewed.

Any agent that is not busting his or her behind this week during the busiest time of the year should probably not be in the business. That goes the same for brokers and franchisees. If you want agents to beg the government, do it in January!

But leave them alone right now so they can drive your business. And if you were as focused on your business as you are on the Congressional schedule, maybe you would not need handouts…

Coldwell Banker “Legislative Week” is underway with a coordinated national grassroots effort that has the brand’s network of local brokers and franchisees communicating directly with their U.S. Senators and Congressional delegates on what can be done to help the housing market.

United States Senate and Congressional representatives are working from their home district offices this week, which enabled Coldwell Banker broker/owners and managers to make local visits with their elected officials. This massive outreach will be followed by Jim Gillespie, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, visiting with key legislators on Capitol Hill June 2-3.

Gillespie, who will meet with top housing influencers, will provide feedback from Coldwell Banker “Legislative Week” and call for an expansion of the current tax credit from first-time home buyers only to all buyers of primary residences and an increase in the amount of the tax credit from $8,000 to $15,000. via  RISMedia.
