Bogus Trailer Park Real Estate Scam – Interesting

by Tom Royce on April 13, 2006

Real_Estate_Fraud_LogoA woman, Myrna Trevizo, in the Austin, Texas area scammed people by placing for sale signs near empty trailers and then acting as a real estate agent took a cash down payment from them. When they tried to contact her to find out the status of the tranaction they would not be able to get ahold of her again.

Myra Trevizo, 44, was arrested Friday. She was charged with five counts of theft, and her bond is set at $500,000. via MySanantonio.com

Deputies say Myrna Trevizo would place “For Sale” signs on vacant mobile homes and utility poles, listing a phone number to contact.
Some potential buyers met with who they thought was a real estate agent and paid down payment money that they never saw again.
“When the prospective buyer would call to find out more about what was going on, they never got an answer and figured out they’d been duped out of their money,” Hay County Sgt. Leroy Opiels said. via KXAN.com
