The old GM Proving Grounds in the Mesa, Arizona region is looking at a huge and potentially lucrative project that will be built by William S. Levine, one of the richest men in Arizona. The development will be built on 1,800 acres and will consist of homes, office buildings, and shopping centers.
The proposal is part of an application for a general plan amendment that attorney Paul Gilbert has filed for William S. Levine with the Mesa Planning Department.
“It’s a mixed-use plan with residential, employment, multifamily, office and retail,” Gilbert said. “This is going to provide a substantial amount of employment.”
Levine made his fortune with current Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim owner Arturo Moreno when they sold their Outdoor Systems, an outdoor advertising business, to Infinity Broadcasting several years ago. When Levine was listed as No. 389 of the nation’s 400 richest Americans in Forbes magazine in 2004, his wealth was estimated at $750 million. via The Business Journal of Phoenix
Previously, the Dodge and Chrysler sold for 400 million dollars.

We would like those proving grounds in part, for our automobile MFG company. What might 100 acres be worth?
