Microsoft Vista is garbage, makes Microsoft ME look like a reasonable product.
And why to computer companies put such crappy software on their computers when they sell them. Setting up a computer for a friend, removed the bloated Norton 360, now nothing I can do will get it on the internet.
I know that the companies make money on the garbage programs they put on their computers they sell, but the tech support for this refuse has got to outwiegh the benefits.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

would you mind to explain more about why vista is garbage?
i have been using it for quite a while and it is fanstatic
This sounds like a Norton 360 issue, not a Vista issue. I've been using Vista for over a year, not one major issue. It's frozen fewer times than my XP or OS X systems have in the same time period.
It was a Norton 360 issue, but give me Microsoft XP any day of the week. What was so frustrating was I fell into the no good deed goes unpunished paradox…
I don't use Vista because I am afraid. Everyone I know that has it hates it. I had ME on a laptop so I know how bad Microsoft can be.
I love the Mac commercials that talk about Vista. I just bought a Mac Laptop and I will prob go with a Mac Desktop soon. I am tired of problems from Microsoft.
Har! try FORMATTING the HARD-DRIVE when you first get it!
{{duh}}
Then just install the OS you want , i.e. Linux Suze, or Ubuntu
along with a good ol' copy of Windows XP. SP2-SP3(hehe)
Get Vista Ultimate, or another. I think it is Pro (note:not the stupid homebody home edition version, or others) & you need the service packs, such as SP1 & others + updates for Vista)
If you get some laptop, such as Toshiba, or HP, they put all kinds of completely worthless, junk software on the machine. One case was the Macafee security center & nameless other junk on it.
Just switching to Mac is never an answer, though that is a good tool + toy to have around. Esp. if you like flashy screen savers & pretty looking pictures. (& yes, they do & can crash)
the only problem with Vista & there is a way around it, is to let other operating systems be on other partitions with it. Say, if you want XP, Vista, & Linux all on the same computer, or whatever.
Peace out
I had a major Vista meltdown last week. I started losing services like sound, then had programs freeze, then I couldn't do a system restore. I had to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything. Thanks, Microsoft!
