I love reading stories of entrepreneurs who see opportunity even when things are seemingly miserable. Rick Rigsbee is one of these guys.
He was watching a football game and heard the announcers talking about how the grounds crew painted the field. Working in the real estate industry in Jacksonville, Florida he knew the curb appeal of a green lawn, even when it was dead or dormant. And installing sod in north Florida does not work in the winter.
So he has created a business painting lawns and is getting rave reviews. You have to love people with that get up and go attitude.
Much of his business has come from people looking to sell homes. Some has come from real estate agents, Realtors, banks and investors, while other requests have come directly from homeowners.
He recently painted a lawn for a woman who was having family over for Thanksgiving, Rigsbee said.
Customers are charged 7 cents per square foot for painting a lawn green. That cost increases to 10 cents per square foot for lawn painting with landscape services. That averages out to about $175 for a typical 2,500-square-foot lawn. Jacksonville.com.

That is very creative. It really speaks of a desperate Real Estate market. Funny but a bit slimy for me.
I can't believe people actually want their lawn painted. Though I remember in San Diego I saw one person's "lawn" – it was all concrete, just painted green, lol.
