This post has little to do with pure real estate, and everything to do with those who are going to dominate online real estate.
The reason, if you are going to be successful in being a consultant to your clients, and attracting new clients online, you have to become an educator.
Most of you have attended college. Well, if that is how you see educating in todays world, think again. Colleges and Universities are in a time warp. They embrace the new technology while forcing into their present paradigm. Scroll through this presentation and see the difference.
Now put yourself in the educators shoes. How you educated your clients, both sellers and buyers, is much different now that 10 years ago. Yet, I am willing to bet most of you, even the savvy online folks, still try to incorporate your old sales techniques in an online fashion.
But the most successful real estate agents are going to break the mold, find new ways to educate your clients, and reap the benefits of the online world.
This book has not been written, but when the code has been cracked, the agents that are on the forefront of online education (and sales) will be in a dominant position to create real and long standing value for their clients, and themselves.
(Oh, and if you have children that are heading to college soon, go through this presentation. You will see the problems colleges are facing in todays world. They are fairly massive.)

I spent a lot of time and money this last year focusing a majority of my Real Estate marketing budget on the internet. As a result 33% of my business came from the internet and I expect it to be even more next year.
