Some Great Advice For Real Estate Agents and Blogging

This came from Chris Bloggett’s blog on how to focus on the real needs of your real estate blog. Focus on what the customer wants.

My core blogging advice is; always talk about the customer. What does the customer want to read about? These folks at the Real Estate office were talking about highbrow stuff like the Economic conditions or financial real estate outlooks and not talking about the houses.

My message to business bloggers was this: Look at your search terms. This is telling you exactly what your prospects want you to talk about. “homes near butler schools” pretty clear right? Searchers are telling you clearly what your small business blog should be about. Just talk about what you do, make your stories short and pointed. If I had a listing for a house in this environment, I would blog about that house a couple times a day. Blog about the bathrooms, blog about the master bedroom, blog about the view and the construction. Blog about the Schools. All of these are seperate opportunities for you to leverage your blogging platform to move your business forward. Chris Baggott’s Guide to Blogging.

Now you may wonder why I do not follow this. It is because I am not a real estate agent. I write on a broader scope than my community.

But if I was an agent you can bet your bottom dollar I would have a very tightly targeted local blog that would focus on real estate needs in my local community.

I am a licensed Realtor in NY…relocating to Vermont.

I have requested info on a new listing to 4 different Realtors over the course of 2 days…yet with no response. In this market, how can a Realtor not even respond to Calls, Voicemails or Emails? The market is not all that great in Vermont-I know my VT home has lost Value in the past couple of years, never mind what we have lost in market price on our home in NY…I just can not understand, Realtors working for the big "Players"..Prudential, C21, Sotheby's.. not even responding , or checking their voicemails or emails…maybe it's just me, but I check these hourly, and keep in touch with leads and customers. I can imagine what our Customers are going through…People lets step up….

As a realtor in California, the Los Angeles area, our board is one of the largest in the country. That being said, a recent report estimates that 40- 50% of the agents currently in this industry will leave the field within the next twelve months. There are many agents that do not know this market and do not have the expereince or training on developing and maintaining customer relations.

I would hold on to the ideal that a real seasoned agent would have responded differently nad that you would have had a very different experience. You have just not come across the right agent.

In a sense, I am a rookie in real estate blogging. I’ve been blogging for about a year. When I blog, my posts are about one specific area (Miami Beach and South Beach) and recent market activities that take place over a month or two in these areas. From an SEO perspective, It’s always good to be specific.

On just thinking about the customer alone we can not develop the business. We need keep update in our product. Of course we have to read the customers mind but at the same time we have to introduce the new things also.

I’m doing Lansing REO Properties and market it in several ways. I really enjoy twitter. Have you try that? Also, I did blogs and it really helps in marketing my website's products. It's a great way to market your REO properties. You should try it. I’ve been blogging for a long time and it works.

Blogging in real estate is vital. When it comes to marketing there are a lot of ways to market not just by blogging. Social media is now the trend in internet marketing, twitter,facebook are just some.

It's funny you are writing about this because I just completed a Blog this morning that talks about that. To many of us are concerned about Realtors needs and not the consumer. I also suggest you become friendly with your local businesses. I have partnered with some to help give them a presence on Google by blogging about them.

Our company posts regularly on ActiveRain, and one of the things we try to concentrate on for sure is having relevant content for CLIENTS. We've just started, so needless to say, things have been a little slower. The one thing I will say, is that social media (bookmarking, blogging–not just FACEBOOK) is a good tool, but it is not THE ONLY tool. At the end of the day, you're still going to have to pay for online advertising to see some results. I think it's almost impossible to create business (leads in my industry) based solely on organic search. Maybe down the road….but even still….

Great advice. As a real estate company in Czech Republic we have had great success with our real estate investing blog which focuses on the local market for foreign investors. I always use the tools that Google provides to find the best title for our articles.

I think that social media is another great outlet, but having a blog on your real estate website will help you out just as much in the long run; driving traffic to your site and by creating unique content you will be ranked higher from an SEO perspective.

Great information provided by you but according to my opinion these are some important real estate strategies.
1.Buy and hold.
2. Buy and lease
3. Wrap around financing.
