NaturallySpeaking software to post online — an experiment

by Tom Royce on February 12, 2007

So tonight I am using NaturallySpeaking software to create this post.

I just installed the software, had tried it many years ago with mixed set success, but wanted to give it another try.  I went to the training.  Which took about five minutes and then started to dictate this post.  I don’t know about you, but very often I try to write in a conversational style but when I’m hunched over a keyboard it does not come out as fluidly as I would like.

So instead I’m constantly rewriting trying to get it pretty and trying make it interesting, I am going to just talk into my microphone.  By using the NaturallySpeaking software I may be a bit more productive, I may be a bit more fun, spontaneous, and God willing a bit more engaging.

Let’s face it, on the surface real estate can be pretty boring.  Yet 95% of real estate agents and people in the business have an engaging manner.  So to take a piece of software that can capture the spirit of the person with their speaking style and personality you have the opportunity to engage your readership at a much higher level.

So in that manner I’m going to try the NaturallySpeaking software for the rest of the week.  Let me know what she think of it and I will also let you know what I think of it.  There is a new version out, NaturallySpeaking 9, they can be bought for $100.  If you have the horsepower in your computer to run the program it may be a very wise investment if you are a real estate blogger or any other blogger.

so far it has been fairly painless, but today was pretty busy so I have not had the chance to stretch it.

Interesting software – how difficult was it for you to get started? I know many busy real estate agents who would love to use something like this instead of typing a post and revealing how little grammar and spelling they remember from school.
