Happy Smiling Faces

Are you feeling pretty good in the morning? Odds are you live in a state that has a great deal of warmth and sunshine. Or your state starts with the letter M, because anyone who knows Montana at #7 and Maine at #10 are not the best states for warmth.

Louisiana leads the list, but the researchers do preface the results by saying that the study did start before Hurricane Katrina.

If you are looking to live where you will be the happiest, check out this list.

  1. Louisiana
  2. Hawaii
  3. Florida
  4. Tennessee
  5. Arizona
  6. Mississippi
  7. Montana
  8. South Carolina
  9. Alabama
  10. Maine

I feel this is a great marketing strategy for real estate in the "happy states"

I live in Montana and it is a great place to be, even if it gets a bit cold in the winter. We do need to have higher incomes though, that is the challenge for the state.

Florida is #3??? Then why don;t I feel happy in here? Lol. Maybe it all depends on how you live life in these states.

I agree. States aren't happy. People are. This has little to do with the state itself and more with the type of people living there (and their attitudes).

It's no surprise that Tennessee makes the list. My wife and I have lived in Knoxville for the past 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a great place to live and real estate is still in good shape. I would definitely recommend Knoxville TN to anyone looking to move.
