So when figuring out where the most expensive places to insure a home are you have to take into account many different factors. While hurricanes capture our imagination this time of year and provide graphic examples of how devastated an area can be, it is the everyday claims that drive up rates.

Add to that the cost of repair, regions like the District of Columbia can be down right expensive to insure.
